Requirements for VSC certification: 1) Be an active member at least 18 years of age. 2) Pass the VSC test (Open Book) 3) Assist in five (5) VSCs with a certified examiner. 4) Complete five (5) VSCs without assistance or supervision. To maintain Vessel Safety Check Certification all you need to do is complete five (5) VSCs annually. To earn a Merit Mark, you need to complete ten (10) VSCs in one (1) year. CPS has performed 111 VSC's (second in District 20) by six (6) Certified Examiners. Interested in the Vessel Safety Check Program? We will have a short class, an open book test, followed by mock VSC exams.
